How to pay

We settle in cryptocurrency. If you already hold some, the checkout will show you an amount and an address and you can skip this page. If you do not, here is the whole process.

We sell and ship within the United States only. If your delivery address is outside the US, we cannot complete the sale — please do not buy cryptocurrency for a purchase we will have to decline.

Hold something else? Email us before you buy anything — enquiries@hobbymannor.com — and we will tell you whether we can take it. Do not send an asset that is not on this list; we may not be able to recover it.

The four steps

  1. 1

    Get a wallet

    A wallet is the app that holds your crypto and lets you send it. Exodus, Trust Wallet, and Coinbase Wallet are all reasonable. Write the recovery phrase down on paper. Anyone with that phrase can take everything, and nobody — us included — can restore it for you.

  2. 2

    Buy the crypto

    Use one of the services below. You buy in your own name, in your own account. We never see your card, your bank details, or your identity documents, and we are not a party to that purchase.

  3. 3

    Send it to your wallet

    If you bought on an exchange, withdraw to your wallet address. Send a small test amount first if the sum is large. This step is worth the extra ten minutes.

  4. 4

    Pay from your order page

    Open your order page. It shows the exact amount and the address to send it to. Send that amount, then tap "I have sent the payment". We confirm once the funds arrive and your order page updates.

Where to buy

These are independent companies. We have no partnership with any of them and earn nothing if you use them — they are listed because they are the ones our customers use. Their fees, limits, and identity requirements are theirs, not ours.

Most people, first time buying

Debit card, bank transfer, ACH, Apple Pay

The most widely used option and the best documented. New accounts often have a holding period before withdrawal to an external address is allowed — sometimes several days. Start early if your allocation has a deadline.

  2. 2Buy & Sell → select Bitcoin → enter the USD amount → confirm the purchase.
  3. 3Send & Receive → Send → paste the address shown on your Hobby Mannor order page.
  4. 4Enter the exact amount from the checkout page and send.

Larger amounts

Wire transfer, ACH, instant card buy

Lower fees on five-figure purchases and generous withdrawal limits once verified. Verification takes longer up front, so this suits a planned purchase rather than a same-day one.

  1. 1Sign in and open Buy Crypto.
  2. 2Select Bitcoin and complete the purchase.
  3. 3Funding → Withdraw → Bitcoin → add the checkout address as a new withdrawal address.
  4. 4Kraken emails a confirmation link for new addresses. Approve it, then submit the withdrawal.

Skipping the exchange entirely

Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay

Delivers straight to an address you supply, so there is no separate withdrawal step and no account holding period. Fees are higher than an exchange — you are paying for the shortcut.

  2. 2Enter the USD amount from your checkout page.
  3. 3When prompted for a wallet address, paste the address from your Hobby Mannor order page.
  4. 4Pay by card. MoonPay sends the Bitcoin directly there.

Works the same way as MoonPay. Worth trying if MoonPay declines your card or quotes a poor rate — the two price the same purchase differently.

  2. 2Paste the address from your Hobby Mannor order page when asked for a destination.
  3. 3Enter the amount and complete payment.

Bitcoin only. Outbound transfers must be enabled on your account first, and the daily send limit is low relative to a collectible purchase — check yours before you rely on it, because discovering the cap mid-purchase is a bad afternoon.

Small amounts, if you already use it

Venmo balance, linked bank, debit card

External transfers are supported but limits are modest and can take time to clear. Realistically useful for a part payment, rarely for a full settlement at these values.

  2. 2Transfer arrow → Send to external crypto address.
  3. 3Paste the address from your Hobby Mannor order page and confirm.

Every one of these says “the address on your order page.” That is deliberate. Your order page shows the exact amount and the address to send it to. Never accept a payment address from an email or a message — including one that appears to be from us. The only address to trust is the one on your own order page.

Before you send

  • Crypto payments cannot be reversed. Once it is sent, it is gone. Check the address and the amount twice.
  • Send the exact amount shown. An underpayment leaves the invoice open and needs a human to sort out. An overpayment we refund, but slowly.
  • Use the right network. Sending on the wrong chain is the single most common way people lose money. The checkout tells you which one.
  • We will never email you a different address. The only address we will ever ask you to pay is the one on the checkout page behind your allocation link. If you receive anything else claiming to be from us, it is not.
